Leadership Built on Delivered Experience

The strength of Emenea Engineering Services rests on the calibre of its leadership. Our Board of Directors brings together a remarkable depth of cumulative professional experience spanning civil, structural, geotechnical, and project management disciplines much of it earned on the frontline of Malaysia’s most demanding infrastructure programmes.

Every principal on our Board is a registered Professional Engineer and an active practitioner. Their combined careers include senior tenures with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR), Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan Berhad (PLUS), leading international consultancies, and major Malaysian design and construction firms. This depth of first-hand delivery experience means that clients engaging Emenea receive the direct involvement of senior engineering judgment on every assignment not simply oversight from a distance.

The Board is supported by an Advisory Panel drawn from academia, ensuring that the firm’s engineering practice continues to benefit from contemporary research and evolving technical thinking in specialist fields.

Chairman

Ir. Haji Mohamad Najib Haji Ahmad

Ir. Haji Mohamad Najib Haji Ahmad brings 46 years of experience in engineering and project management to his role as Chairman of Emenea Engineering Services. He began his career as a Structural Designer with the Public Works Department of the Malaysian Government (JKR) before joining PLUS Berhad as Head of the Geotechnical and Structure Unit for Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan Berhad. That formative experience shaped his approach to engineering — one grounded in both public sector standards and large-scale delivery discipline. He went on to found Emenea Engineering Services Sdn Bhd in 1994 and subsequently established Emenea PMC in the year 2000.

Ir. Haji Mohamed Abu Baker Jailani, co-founder of Emenea Engineering Services, brings 36 years of experience in engineering design and project management. He began his career with Travers Morgan Consulting Group in the United Kingdom, where he worked on the Highway and Bridge Section and was involved in the construction and improvement of bridges across England, Wales, and Scotland. Returning to Malaysia, he took on the role of Head of Structural Unit at Malaysian Marine and Dredging (MMD) before being appointed Project Manager within the Project Management Department at PLUS. He joined EESSB as Executive Director and, together with the founding team, established Emenea PMC in the year 2000.

Ir. Mutazah Hj. Ahmad

Ir. Mutazah Hj. Ahmad contributes 38 years of experience in engineering design and project management to the Emenea Board. Her career includes tenures as Structural Designer with both Saba Consult and Syed Mohamad Hooi & Binnie Consultants. She was subsequently appointed Assistant Resident Engineer overseeing structural works for the construction of the KL–Kajang Highway before joining Emenea Engineering Services as a Director.

Appointed to the Board of Directors in 2025, Ir. Mohd Zaki Bin Mokhtar brings 22 years of specialist expertise in civil and structural design engineering, complemented by strong project management skills. At Emenea Engineering Services, he has served in progressively senior roles as Design Engineer, Project Engineer, and Project Manager, contributing to a wide range of successful projects through technical excellence and effective leadership.

His comprehensive project portfolio covers structural design for steel and reinforced concrete works — including schools, hospitals, building complexes, housing schemes, multi-storey offices, and car parks — as well as infrastructure projects encompassing flood mitigation planning and implementation, water and sewer reticulation with treatment plants, and road widening and upgrading works.

Appointed to the Board of Directors in 2025, Ir. Ts. Selva Gunalan S/O Selliah brings 32 years of experience in engineering and project management. His experience spans the design and coordination of infrastructure works including Water Storage and Reticulation Systems, MASMA-compliant Drainage Systems, Sewerage Reticulation Systems, Pavement Design, and Port Facilities such as RTG Container Yards.

Ir. Adrian Fui Kiew Yong brings 44 years of experience in the civil and structural engineering field, with particular depth in geotechnical and environmental engineering, to his leadership of Emenea’s Sabah Branch. He began his career as a Geotechnical Engineer with AS James Pty Ltd (Professional Consultancy Services) in Australia and later served as Senior Geotechnical Engineer with Coffey and Partners, Australia (Professional Consultancy Services). His vast experience across geotechnical and environmental engineering has seen him lead major projects in both fields. He joined Emenea Engineering Services Sdn Bhd in 2018 and was appointed to lead the firm’s Sabah Branch operations.

Ir. Ts. Dr. Youventharan Duraisamy

Ir. Ts. Dr. Youventharan Duraisamy holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia. His research interests span peat soil stabilisation, biocementation, and energy geotechnics. He brings more than 18 years of teaching experience in soil mechanics and foundation engineering, and his presence on the Advisory Panel ensures that Emenea’s engineering practice continues to benefit from contemporary research and specialist academic insight.
